Quarto Group imprint Motorbooks has just released Geoffrey Himes’s long-awaited Willie Nelson: All the Albums—The Stories Behind the Music, a unique biography that tells Nelson’s story through the 152 albums he recorded and the life that shaped them.
This landmark work follows Himes’s previous music book, In-Law Country: How Emmylou Harris, Rosanne Cash and Their Circle Fashioned a New Kind of Country Music, published last winter by the Country Music Hall of Fame.
In between these two major music histories, Himes also turned to poetry, co-authoring Fables from Italy and Beyond with Grace Cavalieri, the former Poet Laureate of Maryland (Bordighera Press, New York). Their collaboration continued with The Third Voice, published this past summer by Blue Light Press in California.
At this special event, Himes will read from all of these books, sing songs that connect to them, and be available to sell and sign copies after the concert.
